Githunguri Member of Parliament Gathoni Wamuchomba has once again proposed ways in which she could transform the country as the president.

This time, Wamuchomba stated that she would have all civil servants, including the president, attach their wealth to the state to promote accountability to the public.

In a statement on Monday, April 21, the MP highlighted the ballooning national debt of about Ksh11 trillion, asserting that this new method would curb that.

According to her, if these public servant nominees cannot account for the funds in their jurisdiction, they will be subject to Kenyans recovering their wealth.

"An economy that owes over Ksh13 trillion in debts and is still borrowing? The political class are getting wealthier day by day and splashing cash publicly. One day, I will lead this nation to prosperity," part of her statement read.

"I will attach ALL my wealth to the state as a president. My cabinet nominees, all CEOs of parastatals and all board member nominees, will have to do so. Attaching your wealth to the state means that if you cannot account for funds in your jurisdiction, Kenyans will recover it from your wealth. Is this a good deal?"

This is the second time in as many days that the MP has expressed interest in occupying the executive seat.

In a statement on Sunday, April 20, she outlined ways in which she could transform the Kenyan economy by fostering the available labour and resources.

According to Wamuchomba, she would support the cottage industry and put on measures to ensure its success, which could save Kenya's diminishing economy.

"One day, I will lead this country. I will turn around available labour to riches. I will create cottage industries and subsidise power," Wamuchomba stated.

A cottage industry is a small manufacturing business that is owned and operated by an individual or a family, typically operating out of a home rather than a purpose-built facility.

Among the 12 ways she asserted could turn around Kenya's economy were ensuring all households with backyards produced products for domestic consumption and utilising empty stadiums as marketplaces for these products between 6pm and 1am daily, fully equipped with a special cleaning squad.
