ODPP Announces 19 Job Opportunities - How to Apply

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) has announced 19 job openings for Kenyans across several departments.

In a notice issued on June 24, the ODPP stated that the recruitment is in line with Section 13(2) of the ODPP Act No. 2 of 2013, with positions ranging from senior leadership to entry-level clerical roles.

“Pursuant to Section 13(2) of the Director of Public Prosecutions Act No. 2 of 2013, the office shall have powers to appoint, control and supervise its staff in a manner and for such purposes as may be necessary for the promotion of the purpose and the object for which the office is established,” the statement reads.

Interested and qualified applicants are urged to submit their applications through the link provided on the ODPP website.

Director of Public Prosecution Renson Ingonga added that no hard copy application will be accepted, and applications should be submitted before July 15.

The advertised positions include Secretary, Prosecution Services; Assistant Director of Human Resource Development; and Public Affairs & Corporate Communication Officer.

Several opportunities for legal professionals are also available, including five openings for Prosecution Counsel II.

In administrative and support roles, positions advertised include Clerical Officer II, Personal Secretary II, and Prosecution Clerk IV.

Ingonga has encouraged persons with disabilities and members of marginalised communities to apply.

"The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions is committed to implementing the provisions of Article 232(i) of the Constitution. Therefore, persons with disabilities and those from marginalised groups are encouraged to apply," the notice reads.

He added that shortlisted candidates will be required to present original identification, academic and professional certificates, and transcripts during the interviews.

Ingonga noted that the ODPP provides an impartial, innovative, efficient, and effective prosecution service.
