Ksh 380K ODPP Jobs: How to Check Shortlisted Candidates

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) has announced shortlisted candidates out of the 18,600 that had applied for 388 positions.

In a notice dated Wednesday, October 27, the ODPP unveiled the shortlisted candidates for three categories including Prosecution Counsel II, Research Officer and Driver III.

In May, the state prosecutor's office had advertised 388 positions with monthly remuneration rising as high as Ksh380,000 for some of the positions.

More than 18,600 Kenyans had applied to fill vacant positions.

The ODPP was seeking 105 prosecution counsellors of which 1,358 applications were received. In the research officers category, 2,510 Kenyans applied to fill 30 positions. The office also sought 25 drivers and received 1,024 applications.

After careful analysis, however, only 497 were shortlisted for the position of Prosecution Counsel II, 142 were also listed for the driver position and an additional 497 were shortlisted for the Research Officer position.

The total number of shortlisted candidates for the three categories now stands at 1,136.

How to Check

In the statement, the ODPP disclosed that shortlisted candidates could confirm their names by visiting odpp.go.ke or alternatively log on to mygov.go.ke.

The ODPP also advised applicants to visit the ODPP Office Notice Boards at Nairobi Headquarters or its county offices to ascertain shortlisted candidates, slated times for interviews as well as the documents expected to be presented by the candidates.

Interviews for the shortlisted candidates are scheduled to take place between November 1 and November 18.

The interviews are expected to be conducted at the ODPP Training Institute in Nairobi's Loresho area as well as county offices in Nakuru, Kisumu and Mombasa.

Members of the public were also advised to present any adverse information on any shortlisted candidates before Thursday, October 28, 2021.

In general, the position of Office Assistant III recorded the highest applications at 2,858 followed by the Research Officer position that attracted 2,552 and Administrative Officer III that had 1,438.

In the internal sector, Senior Prosecution Counsel lead in the number of applications which stood at 339 followed by Clerical Officer II (265) and Principal Prosecution Counsel (234).

In an advertisement that ran on May 12, the ODPP called for applications for 388 jobs whose salaries range from Ksh21,000 to Ksh320,000 depending on the level ranging from entry-level to senior management positions.
