Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai has hit out at a local investor, who has accused him of illegally occupying his land in Runda for his continued onslaught on his character online.

In a statement on June 30, Alai claimed that the alleged victim and his lawyer had launched a campaign online to malign his character ever since the case was filed in court.

Besides these two, Alai also called out The Standard for perpetuating the same information as well.

"I am compelled to speak out due to the persistent campaign of trolling, defamation, bullying, and public shaming orchestrated," he stated.

In his statement, Alai claimed that these entities had probably continued the online attacks to prejudice the judicial process and secure favourable orders through public pressure rather than legal merit.

As such, he questioned the alleged victim's faith in the judicial system and even put his character in question.

For one, the MCA claimed that the plaintiff had previously hired 500 goons to destroy the property in the same piece while the matter was still in court.

He further accused him of approaching at least six other individuals to effect his illegalities, including bullying Alai and the courts to push the court to rule in his favour.

Maintaining that he has adhered to all the court processes so far, Alai urged his accuser to do the same and not open himself up to future lawsuits and derail his case.

"The matter is sub judice, and your grievances must be prosecuted within the confines of the courtroom, not through media trials or social media lynching," he stated.

"Engaging in defamatory, libellous, or bullying behaviour will not advance your case. Still, it may expose you to legal consequences under Kenya's laws, including the Defamation Act and the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act. I urge you to cease these actions immediately and focus on presenting your evidence before the court."

Just a few days ago, a video of the investor accusing the MCA of forcing him out of his property surfaced online, with his lawyer even claiming that his client was assaulted during the altercation.

The investor claimed that although he had owned the land for 33 years, Alai and his associates forced him out, necessitating the filing of the case.
