The United Opposition has called for a boycott of all businesses, services, and institutions linked to President William Ruto and his allies, over the deaths of Kenyans during the recent demonstrations.

Addressing the press on Tuesday evening, the opposition leaders called for immediate and nationwide action against what they labelled a hostile regime.

Led by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, the politicians stated that they would soon publish a list of Ruto's associates allegedly linked to the recent wave of destruction and looting during the protests.

They added that members of the public would also be allowed to name businesses owned by the Head of State and his associates for other Kenyans to boycott.

"We therefore issue a call to action: boycott all businesses, services and institutions owned, operated or publicly linked to this regime and its enablers," the opposition leaders noted.

"We will publicise a list of shame and call on the public to share any information on businesses affiliated with the people in the list of shame," they added.

While hitting out at Ruto's administration, the opposition leaders claimed that the Saba Saba protests were reportedly sponsored by the State, adding that they had sufficient evidence to support their claims.

In their allegations, the leaders revealed that on the morning of July 7, goons allegedly linked to the government were transported to areas perceived to be opposed to Ruto's regime, to loot and destroy property.

Reiterating their stance, the politicians noted that 2027 was too far for a regime they described as being hell-bent on unchecked killings and full-blown persecution.

They further called for a refusal to engage in or legitimise any events or forums organised by those defending President Ruto's administration, including former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's call for a nationwide conclave.

"The actors, enablers and financiers of this regime's violence will be held personally liable both locally and internationally. The day of reckoning is coming; no title will shield you from justice," they warned.

"We will not rest nor retreat until every drop of innocent blood is accounted for and until the oppressive weight of this regime is lifted off the shoulders of our people," the opposition leaders reiterated.
