CS Chirchir, Kagwe & Ogamba Make Changes in Fresh Ministry Appointments and Revocations

The leadership of several boards in different Ministries has changed after Cabinet Secretaries made appointments and re-appointments.

In a Gazette Notice dated August 8, Transport CS Davis Chirchir re-appointed Alvin Abwe to be a Member of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Railways Corporation for the next three years.

Habwe was reappointed effectively immediately after his previous tenure, which ran from February 23, 2024, up to July 12, 2025, came to an end. He had been appointed by President William Ruto.

At the same time, Water CS Eric Mugaa reappointed Hafswa Abdalla Dele, Judith Wabosha Mwamburi, and Mohamed Masoud Mwahima to be Members of the Board of Directors of the Coast Water Works Development Agency for three years.

The CS also reappointed Millicent Oduor Olando and Mwita Maisro, to be members of the Board of Directors of the Lake Victoria South Water Works Development Agency. Sammy Letema and David Kipchirchir Kimetto were also re-appointed to be members of the Board of Directors of the North Rift Valley Water Works Development Agency.

Meanwhile, CS Mugaa appointed Hared Singira and Anastacia Nyagaki Njoroge to be members of the Board of Directors of the Tana Water Works Development Agency, while Beatrice Mbete Musyoki was appointed to the Board of Directors of the Tanathi Water Works Development Agency as a member.

Education CS Julius Ogamba made changes in some universities, including the Kaimosi Friends University College, after appointing Prof Stanley Khainga to be the non-executive chairperson of the University's council.

Jones Musyoki Kimeu (CPA) was appointed as a Member of the Council of Rongo University after the appointment of Willy Kioko Malile was revoked.

In the same breath,  Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy CS William Kabogo revoked the appointment of Musangi Mutua following his new appointment by CS Ogamba to be the non-executive Chairperson of the Council of the Garissa University, for the next three years.

Agriculture CS Mutahi Kagwe also made a new appointment to the Board of Trustees of the Commodities Fund after appointing Musa Abdullahi Sheikh as a member.

Interior CS Kipchumba Murkomen extended the term of the Technical Committee on Review and Development of Legislative and Policy Reforms for the National police Service and the National Youth Service for nine months until  February 2026.

Gender CS Hannah Wendot also extended the term of the Steering Committee and Secretariat for an extra year from August 1 to August 31, 2026.
