Two auctioneers have announced the auctioning of more than 50 motorcycles and motor vehicles that remain uncollected in several police stations and offices in Embu and Machakos.
In a gazette notice dated August 26, Petfriend Auctioneers said that they will, within 14 days, dispose of 15 motorcycles that are lying uncollected at the Kiritiri Police Station through public auction if they remain uncollected.
The motorcycle brands include Captain, Sonlink, Tiger, Hadjin, Skygo, TVS, and a boxer.
"Notice is issued pursuant to the provisions of the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act (Cap. 38), laws of Kenya, and following the authorities and order under the Miscellaneous Application Case No. E39 of 2025 in the Principal Magistrate’s Court at Siakago to the owners of the Motorcycles which are lying idle and unclaimed within Kiritiri Police Station," the notice stated.
"If the aforesaid motorcycles will not be collected at the expiry of this notice, the same shall be sold by the Public Auction or Private Treaty by Petfriend Auctioneers, Numa House, Kikuyu Town, P.O. Box 52071-00200, Nairobi, without any further notice," the notice stated.
In the next 30 days, Petfriend further said that they will auction more than 40 motorcycles, 6 motor vehicles, bicycles, scrap, and carts that are lying idle and uncollected at the Matuu Police Station in Machakos County.
According to the auctioneers, the motorcycle brands include Ranger, Skygo, Dayun, Sonlink, Bajaj, Flyjet, Honda, Tiger, Yamaha, Shinel, Boxer, Delight, and Jincheng. The motor vehicle brands include Toyota Sprinter, Mazda, Nissan Sunny, Toyota G, Mercedes E190, and a Kast wreck.
"Notice is issued pursuant to the provisions of the Disposal of Uncollected Goods Act (Cap. 38) laws of Kenya, and following the authorities and order under the Miscellaneous Application Case No. E113/2025 in the Principal Magistrate’s Court at Kithimani to the owners of the Motorcycles which are lying idle and unclaimed within Matuu Police Station," the notice read.
Lastly, Wotech Kenya Limited said that it will dispose of submersible pumps, motors, cables, surface pumps, control panels, water meters, and related sundries that remain uncollected at their Athi River offices.
Wotech has noted that owners should collect the items before September 22; failure to do so will result in the company auctioning or donating the items.
