Former President Uhuru Kenyatta has announced that the former ruling party, Jubilee, is set for major changes, with its leadership reviewing key aspects during an upcoming National Delegates Conference.

In an official notice to members dated September 3, Uhuru stated that the party will hold a special NDC on September 26 as it seeks to realign itself under its 'Mbele Pamoja' agenda.

The meeting will take place at the Jockey Club, Ngong Racecourse, Nairobi, from 8 a.m.

The notice, which was signed by the former President who also serves as the party leader, follows an earlier communication dated August 5 informing the members to be ready for the special sitting.

“Further to our notice of a Special National Delegates Convention dated August 5, 2025, and pursuant to Articles 8.1 and 10.1 of the Jubilee Party Constitution, a notice is hereby issued for a Special National Delegates Convention to be held at the Jockey Club, Ngong Racecourse, Nairobi, Kenya, on September 26, 2025,” the notice read in part.

According to Uhuru, the main agenda of the special conference will include receiving a status report from the National Executive Committee.

The sitting will also see the leaders review, formulate, and approve the party constitution, its organs, policies, and programmes.

The conference will also consider any other matters deemed critical to the party’s future.

The September 26 special meeting comes just weeks after Uhuru Kenyatta chaired a virtual NEC meeting, the first since a High Court ruling and subsequent gazette notice reinstated his leadership team, including Secretary-General Jeremiah Kioni and Vice-Chair David Murathe.

The ruling ended a prolonged dispute with a rival faction led by Kanini Kega and Sabina Chege.

The special NDC is expected to reinforce the party's stance and chart a new course for Jubilee's role in the political scene, especially as different parties continue to mould themselves ahead of the general election.

The conference is expected to attract attention in the political arena as speculation grows over potential alliances with other parties that share Jubilee’s agenda and views.
