Seven families in the Rokongo Area of Pumwani Highrise, Kamukunji, were left homeless after a fire ravaged through their homes on Wednesday evening.
The fire reportedly started at around 6.30pm, immediately engulfing the homes and leaving the families displaced.
Despite the property loss, however, no family members were caught in the fire, although one suffered a broken hand during the fracas.
He was identified as Ali Kiragu and was transported to the Mama Lucy Kibaki Hospital to receive the appropriate medical attention.
Following the fire, first responders from the City County, including firefighters, responded quickly to the emergency, swiftly containing the flames and preventing further damage.
According to the Kamukunji Voice, the community is already making plans for aid, temporary shelter, and essential supplies for the affected families, which are already underway.
In videos and images obtained by Kenyans.co.ke, the members of the community were seen looking on at the aftermath of the inferno as some tried to salvage any property.
Notably, this is the second fire in as many days in the area.
