Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba has made a series of appointments and reappointments to his docket in a move aimed at enhancing service delivery.
In a gazette notice dated Friday, September 26, CS Ogamba appointed Zephania Koech to be a member of the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) for four years.
He also appointed Kennedy Otieno, Stephen Kubai and Josephat Kemboi as members of the Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE) council for a period of three years.
At the same time, Ogamba reappointed Saida Ali Aden as a Member of the Council for the Kenya Institute of Special Education, for a further period of three years, effective September 26, 2025.
Additionally, the Education CS appointed eight people to the Board of Governors for the Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa.
He appointed Florah Fedha, Joseph Wambua, Allan Sitima, Jenniffer Bosibori, Joseph Magudah Okhaba and Abdijibar Sanay to the board for three years beginning September 26, this year.
In the radical appointments made by Ogamba, Lucy Rono was appointed to be a member of the Board of Directors of the National Biosafety Authority for three years.
In the notice, Attorney General Dorcas Oduor also made several appointments. He appointed Bernard Kipkoech Ngetich and Tom Ratemo to be Members of the Board of the Kenya School of Law for four years.
She also appointed Bernhard Ngetich to the same board for four years, effective September 26, 2025, designating Ratemo as the board's chairperson.
The changes also extended to County governments, where Kitui Governor Julius Malombe and his Kwale Counterpart Fatuma Achani announced new appointments.
Malomeb appointed Julius Waita Mwatu, Amos Kitavi Kivite, Jackline Kambua Kyalo, Rehana Ismail, Joel Mwinzi Muyanga, Festus Mutei Mulu, and Samuel Gathuki Mwangi to be Chairperson and Members of the Kitui County Audit Committee.
Meanwhile, Achani appointed Halima Kauchi as Chairperson of the Kwale County Biashara Revolving Fund Committee for three years, effective August 28, 2025.
