Reports indicate Nyammo passed away on Sunday morning on his 86th birthday.

An avid member of the Rotary circles of Nairobi, Nyammo was fondly known as "FT", short for "Fun Times", with his initials also spelling the same.

While announcing the death on Sunday, the President of one such Rotary club in Nairobi mourned the former MP as family, who brought more than joy to the establishment.

"PP FT Nyammo was more than a Rotarian to us— he was a pillar of strength, a source of joy and a true gentleman whose laughter and wisdom lit up every room," she stated.

"For many years, he walked faithfully beside us, shaping the club with his generosity, love for service and unwavering fellowship. Truly, he blessed us with his presence."

At the time of the publication of this article, his cause of death has yet to be made public.

Thombe served as the Tetu Constituency MP from 2008 to 2013 after being elected in the 2007 general elections via the Party of National Unity (PNU) ticket.

He had also served as a leader in the private sector, most notably as the chair of Longhorn Publishers, and was a founding member of the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA).
