Officials confirmed that no student injuries were reported during the incident, as learners were in class when the fire erupted. However, personal belongings, including books, uniforms, and bedding, were reduced to ashes.

Education officials in Kakamega County have since visited the school as investigations into the cause of the fire continue.

Meanwhile, police have launched a probe to establish whether the blaze was accidental or linked to foul play, as cases of outbreaks continue to be on the rise.

Last month, a fire broke out at Tulwet Boys High School in Bureti Constituency in Kericho County, with images and videos of the inferno showing the fire consuming one of the school's main buildings, with locals forced to intervene to attempt to quell the flames.

Still within the month, Kabungut Boys High School in Bureti Sub-County, Bomet County, was closed indefinitely following a student strike sparked by the quantity and quality of food.

Litein Boys High School also recently grabbed headlines after students set part of the school on fire on Sunday, September 21.

The unrest reportedly began after the administration denied the students an opportunity to watch the much-anticipated English Premier League match between Arsenal and Manchester City.

Sources within the school revealed that the students had requested to view the 90-minute match under the usual weekend entertainment schedule, a practice common in many boys' schools. However, the administration declined the request, triggering unrest among the learners.
