The principal of Litein Girls School is under pressure after reports emerged that students were locked out of the institution at night.
Students returning from the mid-term break were reportedly denied entry into the school and forced to wait outside the gate for arriving late.
Some of the students had travelled a long distances from Nairobi and other parts of the country, arriving in the evening.
In an image obtained by Kenyans.co.ke , two students can be seen sitting huddled together outside the school's main gate, stranded at dusk.
Reportedly, the school principal instructed the two students to return home.
This incident caused public uproar where raising concerns over the safety of the affected student. Others questioned why the administration decided on that kind of punishment.
"Why not allow them in and send them back home the following morning if she really needs to?" one of the citizens commended.
"What were those children supposed to do after being sent back at night?" another one questioned on the social media page.
"What if something happens to those ladies? I really condemn that," another commented
This is not the first time such an incident has happened. Earlier in the year, a section of students from St. Anne's Girls Secondary School, located along Jogoo Road in Nairobi, were forced to spend a part of the night outside in the cold.
This is after reports confirmed that the school principal sent the girls out of the school compound over fee arrears.
The students were only admitted to the school after it took the intervention of Makadara Member of Parliament George Aladwa who sent a team to attend to the standoff.
In a similar incident, Kegonye Secondary School, Nyeri County, on March 4, was on the spot after students were left stranded outside the school.
Seven students were left stranded in Othaya town after their principal sent them home for arriving one hour late.
The students were expected to report by 1 pm, but arrived around 2 pm. Many of them came from places like Naivasha, Nakuru, and Ruiru. With no transport back home, they were later taken to a local police station for safety.
