Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH) has flagged a notice circulating online purporting to offer employment opportunities at the hospital.
In a notice on Thursday, October 9, the hospital's management noted that a fake email, claiming to be the official recruitment email of the hospital, has been sending job adverts to individuals.
The public has been urged to disregard these posts because they are from con artists looking to defraud unsuspecting Kenyans.
"It has come to the attention of the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH) that there is a fake job circulating online asking applicants to send their applications to an email. Please note that this email address is fraudulent," the hospital stated.
"We wish to caution the public not to respond to, share, or send any personal information or money to individuals or email addresses claiming to offer jobs at KUTRRH through unofficial channels," it added.
According to the 650-bed hospital, all job openings are explicitly advertised via its official email or other official government websites.
"For clarification or verification of any job advert, please contact the hospital through official communication channels listed on our website," the hospital stated.
The announcement comes two months after the National Employment Authority (NEA) cautioned Kenyans against fraudsters who were claiming that the authority was also offering job opportunities.
In a notice on Monday, August 11, NEA said that Kenyans should disregard such announcements and always verify any job posting before applying to avert fraudsters who exploit unsuspecting job seekers.
The authority noted that all legitimate job vacancies in the authority can only be accessed on the NEA official website and the NEA Integrated Management System (NEAIMS).
"The NEA cautions the public against fraudsters posing as recruiters. Currently, there are no job openings within the authority. All legitimate job vacancy advertisements are posted exclusively on the official NEA website and the NEAIMS," the authority said.
