People's Liberation Party (PLP) leader Martha Kaura has dismissed claims of allegedly falling out with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

This follows a viral social media post that purported that Karua was reportedly at loggerheads with her United Opposition colleague over a lack of inclusivity.

The post attributed a quote to Karua criticising Gachagua's camp for lacking respect and inclusivity in making key party decisions.

It further claimed that Gachagua's lack of inclusivity and respect triggered key figures in the Democracy for the Citizens' Party (DCP) camp to quit the political formation.

However, Karua came out to set the record straight, denying the claims as mere falsehood. Taking to her X account on Saturday morning, she branded the viral post as fake.

Karua was forced to clarify the matter after the viral publication raised eyebrows among a section of Kenyans who quickly raised concerns over the credibility of the information.

The PLP party leader's clarification came amid speculation of a looming fallout among the united opposition leaders, with claims linking the fallout to internal wrangles over the opposition's potential presidential candidate in the 2027 general elections.

Amid the claims, senior opposition leaders on Friday afternoon shared a podium during Wiper party's National Delegates Conference, quelling the rumours of alleged disagreement.

The leaders present at Kalonzo's event included Gachagua, Karua, Jubilee party flag bearer Fred Matiang'i and Democratic Action Party (DAP-Kenya) party leader Eugene Wamalwa.

During the meeting, which was attended by thousands of Kenyans at the Uhuru Park in Nairobi, Gachagua declared that he would throw his full weight behind Kalonzo in the 2027 general elections.

Gachagua said he was prepared to not only endorse the Wiper leader but also mobilise Kenyans more vigorously than he did for President William Ruto during the 2022 polls.

"The formula we use will help Kalonzo to be the only presidential candidate from the opposition. I and my millions of followers will support and campaign for him. The campaign I will undertake will be ten times better than what I did for Ruto," Gachagua said.
