Nairobi, Kisumu, Nakuru Among Regions to Experience Continued Rain This Week - Kenya Met

Residents in several regions including Nairobi, Nakuru, Kisumu, Eldoret and Naivasha have been urged to brace for more rain between Tuesday, October 14, and Saturday, October 18.

In its weekly forecast, the  Kenya Meteorological Department said that major towns, including Nairobi, Kiambu, Kericho, Eldoret, Nakuru, Naivasha, Kisumu, and Lodwar, will experience rain and showers during this period.

"Rainfall is expected in some parts of the Highlands East and West of the Rift Valley, the Lake Victoria Basin, the Rift Valley, the Coast, North-Eastern and North-western Kenya," Kenya Met stated.

Nyandarua, Laikipia, Nyeri, Kirinyaga, Murang'a, Kiambu, Meru, Embu, Tharaka, and Nairobi counties are expected to experience sunny intervals on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings; however, showers are expected to hit several areas in these counties for the rest of the week.

In the afternoon, these counties will experience chances of showers on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Tuesday and Wednesday morning will be sunny.

Tuesday and Wednesday night will remain partly cloudy, while showers are expected to be experienced on  Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night, according to the weatherman.

The maximum temperatures in these counties are expected to hit maximums of 30°C, with minimums at 06°C, according to the weatherman.

Thunderstorms

It is predicted that rain and showers accompanied by thunderstorms will hit Kisumu, Kisii, Uasin Gishu, Nandi, Nakuru, Narok, Kericho, Bomet, Kakamega, Vihiga, Bungoma, Busia, and West Pokot counties, throughout the day and night for most parts of this week.

According to the forecast, the maximum temperatures in these regions during this period are expected to be 32°C, with minimums of 8 °C.

Mombasa, Kilifi, Lamu, and Kwale counties, as well as Tana River County, are expected to experience, might experience daylong sunny conditions on Tuesday and  Wednesday, and Thursday. Residents in these areas might, however, experience showers in a few places on Friday and  Saturday. Cloudy conditions are expected to prevail in these regions throughout the week.

Maximum temperatures in these counties are predicted to be 32°C, while minimums will be around 23°C.

Daylong sunny conditions and cloudy conditions during the night are expected in Kitui, Makueni, Machakos, Kajiado, and Taita Taveta counties, as well as the inland parts of Tana River County throughout the week. These regions will also experience cloudy conditions during the night.

Maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to be 33°C, with minimums of 12°C.

Turkana and Samburu counties are also expected to experience sunny conditions during the day and cloudy conditions during the night. The maximum temperatures in these areas are expected to be 37°C, while the minimums are expected to be 08°C.

Marsabit, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Isiolo counties are expected to experience sunny conditions throughout the day until Thursday. A few paces of rain may occur on Friday and Saturday night throughout the day, according to the forecast.
