Tanzanian artist Christina Shusho Releases Song for Late Raila Odinga

Tanzanian gospel artist Christina Shusho has released an emotional, heartfelt song in honour of the late former Raila Odinga, who died on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

The song titled “Pumzika Baba”, celebrates Odinga’s life and his contributions to Kenya and Africa as a whole.

In the song, she praised Odinga for his dedication and the impact he had made on his political journey, as well as his courage.

In a statement released on Friday October 17, Shusho expressed her sympathy to Kenyans, stating that Kenya is her second home.

“Kenya is my second home. My Ministry has immensely grown through the support of my Kenyan family. I stand with you as we celebrate this great son of Africa, ⁦Raila Odinga⁩. I had to do this for Kenyans,” she said.

Shusho's song added a spiritual touch to tributes from across the region, as Africa mourns one of its most influential political figures.

She joined a growing list of artists who released songs to pay tribute to Odinga.

Kenyan rapper King Kaka, recently released a moving and touching song honouring the ODM leader.

Benga artist,  Prince Indah, also remembered Odinga through a touching musical tribute.

Throughout Odinga's life, he was mostly known for his love of music, and he mostly sang during public events.

One of his favourite songs was 'Jamaican Farewell' by Harry Belafonte, which has an emotional line.

“But I am sad to say, I'm on my way, won’t be back for many a day…”
