Murang'a Senator Joe Nyutu has said that he will not leave the ruling party despite being a vocal ally of former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, daring the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party to remove him.

Speaking in an interview with Citizen TV on Thursday, October 30, Nyutu said that he is staying put and will leave whenever he feels like it.

The senator openly challenged UDA party leaders to kick him out if they did not like his position in the party.

"If UDA is not happy with Nyutu being a Senator member in Murang'a, let UDA remove me from their list of members."

"I challenge both Members of Parliament for Nyando Constituency, Jared Okello and Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, to go tell the party leader of UDA, President William Ruto, to remove me. We are waiting," Nyutu stated boldly.

In his statement, Nyutu said he is staying in UDA and his membership is his to control, insisting it is just a matter of when.

“I will leave UDA when I want, but they want me to leave earlier. Tell the party leader to remove me. I will be more than glad; I have been removed as chair of education, and I survived," he added.

Nyutu argued that President Ruto has plans to take over the opposition Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party, claiming that Ruto uses it for his own political benefit.

According to Nyutu, Ruto is planning to use the ODM party as a vehicle for his re-election campaign.

“President William Ruto has many plans to inherit ODM or use the party for his re-election. This is because he is desperate, and I will not be surprised if they choose to join ODM,” Nyutu.

Senator argued that Ruto's desperation is due to a lack of commitment to his own UDA's foundation during the last election.

"Why President Ruto is desperate for ODM is that he had not held membership of UDA at the time of the election. He thought he was too strong and smart. He could do away with people, then he got a shock when the new partner (ODM) did not embrace this partnership as UDA did," he added.
