Social Health Authority (SHA) has appointed 23 new assistant directors across the country to strengthen its team and improve service delivery across the country.
In a statement released on Friday, October 31, 2025, the chairperson of the SHA board Abdi Mohamed, said that the appointments came after a competitive recruitment drive which began on July 29, 2025.
He stated that the new appointments are to help enhance operational capacity and ensure quality healthcare access for all Kenyans.
“This expansion of the senior management team injects a wealth of experience into the Authority’s ranks. These new leaders are crucial for enhancing operational capacity across all Directorates as SHA scales up to achieve its core mandate,” authority stated.
Among those appointed are Rose Nakhungu Nandasaba as Assistant Director, Legal Services; Adow Osman Ahmed as Assistant Director, Registration and Compliance; and Moindi Kevin Omai as Assistant Director, Supply Chain Management
Beatrice Chengat Kimale and Douglas Odhiambo Owino were also appointed as Assistant Directors, Planning and Linkages; Mercy Kamene Mutua and James Letangule as Assistant Directors, Benefits Management; and Samira Swaleh and Kennedy Kirichu Ndegwa as Assistant Directors, Fund Management.
SHA also made appointments in Finance and Accounts Directorate by appointing Mohammed Elmi and Irene Jepng’etich Rono as Assistant Directors.
Callista Kendi Omwenga and Timothy Musyoka Malusi will also serve in Administration while Maurreen Cherwon, Khadija Ali Juma and Bria Muriithi Mugambi join as Assistant Directors for Human Resource Management and Customer Experiences.
In the Information and Communication Technology department, Julius Kiamba Muli was appointed as assistant director.
Fardoda Abdi Ali and Gilbert Mogambi Osoro were appointed as assistant directors in Registration and Compliance, while Julia Ouko will serve as assistant director in Provider Management
James Tama and Samson Nthei will also be serving as assistant directors in Internal Audit.
These appointments came days after the board named 16 news Deputy Directors and 9 Principal Claims Management Officers on October 9, 2025.
