Cabinet Secretaries Julius Ogamba, Wycliffe Oparanya, and Hannah Cheptumo and Attorney General Dorcas Oduor have made a series of new appointments across key government institutions.

In a gazette notice published last Friday, Education CS Ogamba announced that Mohamed Sheikh Gabow has been appointed Non-Executive Chairperson of the Kenya Education Management Institute. Gabow will serve in the role for three years, with effect from November 14, 2025.

According to the notice, the appointment aims to strengthen leadership and governance at the institute, ensuring it meets its mandate effectively.

His counterpart in the Ministry of Co-operatives, Oparanya, appointed Lucy Loronyokie and Caroline Karanja as members of the board of the Micro and Small Enterprises Authority, with their three-year terms also taking effect from November 14, 2025.

β€œIn exercise of the powers conferred by section 30 of the Micro and Small Enterprises Act, I appoint Lucy Sophina R. Loronyokie and Caroline K. Karanja to the board to provide strategic guidance and oversight,” Oparanya said.

Gender CS Cheptumo, on the other hand, appointed Beatrice Jepkoech Changwony as a member of the Kenya National Library Service Board for three years, effective from November 14, 2025, in a bid to support efforts to expand library services across the country.

Attorney General Oduor also announced the appointment of Ellias Billy Nyonje, Simon Malonza, Rina Chatrath, and Nancy Manyara as members of the Nairobi Centre for International Arbitration, with their three-year terms also commencing on November 14, 2025.

At the county level, Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya made new appointments to the county audit committee. 

He named Tulienge Anne Nangila as the Chairperson and Andrew Wekesa Wepukhulu as Secretary, with Makokha Shadrack Nasengo, Mwitari Geoffrey Kiruki, Simwelo Juma Wasike, and Scholastica Namalwa Nalobile serving as members.  

Meanwhile, President William Ruto has also appointed Senate Speaker Amason Kingi's brother to the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC).

In a notice published on November 14, the President announced the appointment of Engineer Michael Thoyah Kingi to serve as a member of the commission

Michael is also a former MP for the Magarini Constituency, having served from 2017 to 2022. He lost a reelection in 2022 after running on a Pamoja African Alliance (PAA) party ticket.
