You will soon be able to use multiple WhatsApp accounts on a single phone, as the messaging platform prepares to roll out one of its most requested features.
According to the latest update, selected iOS beta testers have already begun seeing the update in different versions, including 25.34.10.72 and 25.19.20.74.
The new multi-account support will appear in the Account List section of WhatsApp settings. Alternatively, there will be a dedicated button next to the QR code where users will be able to connect existing accounts or create new ones.
Despite the seemingly complex process, all the data will be synced easily through QR code authentication.
Notably, each profile will function independently, complete with its own chat history, privacy controls, backups and media auto-download settings, ensuring that nothing overlaps between accounts.
As far as notifications are concerned, all accounts will continue to receive notifications even when one profile is active.
Switching between accounts will also be seamless, as users can toggle profiles through the Account List or use quick gestures, including long-pressing the settings tab. Alternatively, users can double-tap for instant switching.
One of the inevitable concerns about using multiple WhatsApp accounts on a single phone is security. However, every account will work with App Lock, which will include Face ID and password protection. Moving from one account to another will thus be secure and will require re-authentication to maintain privacy.
The impending rollout of the new feature follows WhatsApp's recent expansion in the EU, where users gained the ability to integrate chats from other messaging apps.
It also comes on the back of reports that a vulnerability may have exposed up to 3.5 billion phone numbers, adding urgency to enhanced security measures.
One of the biggest beneficiaries of this feature will be entrepreneurs, who will now be able to separate their personal WhatsApp from their business line through the same handset.
As recently as August 2025, the popular messaging application was reported to be gearing up to roll out a new Guest Chat feature, and once approved, WhatsApp users will be able to interact with friends and relatives who do not necessarily have the messaging app.
Details spotted in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android by WabetaInfo suggest that the step is part of Meta's larger plan to make its platforms consistent with requirements under the new EU regulations.
The report indicates that the feature will enable one-on-one chats between WhatsApp users and non-users through a special invitation link. Once the link is sent, the invited person will not be required to download WhatsApp or create an account.
