The Democratic Party candidate for Magarini, Stanley Kenga, has accused the Kilifi South Member of Parliament, Ken Chonga, and Lamu East Member of Parliament, Ruweida Mohamed, of intimidating voters at the polling stations in Magarini on election day.

The candidate made these allegations on 27th November 2025 during a live interview on NTV, where he claimed that the broad-based MPs allied to his main opponent, Harrison Kombe, were creating disturbance at polling stations.

Kenga accused the leaders of invading polling stations yet they are not from the areas.

"There are leaders from government who are not from Magarini, and they are trying to invade the polling stations," the DP candidate claimed.

He further alleged that MPs Ken Chonga and Ruweida Mohamed were intimidating voters in the polling stations.

Earlier an incident unfolded in Magarini where Mp Ken Chonga was chased away from a polling station by residents alleged to be DCP supporters from the polling station.

The DP candidate called upon leaders who are not from the area to avoid interfering with the by-elections.

"All those who are not voters in Magarini and are not supposed to be in polling stations in Magarini should allow the residents to make their own decision," the candidate said.

Stanley Kenga also claimed that some of his agents are facing a similar issue as his opponent, Harrison Kalama, who claimed that some of his agents had been locked out of the polling stations.

Kenga claimed that his agents were also locked out in Marekebuni Primary polling station. He claimed that the situation was solved after his party intervened.

The Magarini candidate has now called upon security forces to take action against the two MPs for intimidating voters.

As at now, voters are still streaming in to different polling stations in Magarini, voting for their preferred candidate in the by-elections.
