Ruto, Mbadi, and Attorney General Make New Appointments to Govt

President William Ruto, Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi, and  Attorney General Dorcas Oduror have made a series of appointments and revocations in some key government institutions.

 In a gazette notice dated  December 5, the president reappointed  David Wamtsi Omusotsi as the Non-Executive Chair of the Council of the Kenya Utalii College.

 The Head of State said that Omusotsi will serve in the role for three years, with effect from December 5, 2025.

"In exercise of the powers conferred by paragraph 20 (2) (a) of the Tourism Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander in Chief of the Defence Forces, re-appoints David Wamtsi Omusotsi as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Council of the Kenya Utalii College, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 5th December 2025," the notice read.

In the same notice, the president also revoked the appointment of Basil Criticos as the Chairperson of the Kenya Trade Network Agency.

The President also revoked the appointment of Paul Mwiti Mucheke and Abubakar Ketemon as board members of the agency.

"In exercise of the powers conferred by section 7 (3) of the State Corporations Act I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander in Chief of the Defence Forces revokes the appointments of Basil Criticos as the Chairperson, Paul Mwiti Mucheke and Abubakar Ketemon as members of the Board of Kenya Trade Network Agency, with effect from the 5th December, 2025,"  the notice read.

On his part, Treasury CS, John Mbadi, appointed  Lawrence Kibet, who serves as the  Director General of Public Investment and Portfolio Board, as the Chairperson of the  Asian Officers' Family Pension Board.

Mbadi also appointed  Michael Kagika, Dinah Mboje, Francis Amuyunzu,  and Vivian Chebii as members of the board. 
The four individuals will serve in these positions for the next three years, according to Mbadi.

 Mbadi also appointed  Suleiman Issack Ali as a member of the Board of the Kenya Trade Network agency with effect from  December 5, 2025, to December 7, 2026.

 Gerald Okoko was also appointed as a member of the  Board by the CS, a position he will hold from December 5, 2025, to October 5, 2026.

 Mbadi further revoked the appointement of appointment of Millicent Nyaboke and Halima Omar as Members of the Board of the Local Authorities Provident Fund, and appointed  Hassan Amina Gedow as a board member of the Fund, a position she will serve for the next three years.

Lastly, Attorney General Dorcas Oduor appointed  James Musee Nduna as the registrar of marriages for a period of three years.
