The Wiper Patriotic Front has fired back at President William Ruto following his recent criticism of its party leader, Kalonzo Musyoka, accusing him of stealing projects in the Ukambani region.

The party, through its Secretary General Shakila Abdalla, accused Ruto of dishonestly claiming credit for the Kibwezi-Mutumo-Kitui-Bondoni road project, which the party claims should go to Kalonzo Musyoka.

"Ruto now parades through lower Eastern, claiming credit for the Kibwezi-Mutumo-Kitui-Bondoni road. This is not just dishonest; it is outright theft," the Wiper statement read.

In their statement, Wiper outlined that Kalonzo personally launched the project on March 29, 2011, which was funded through the EXIM Bank of China. Wiper claimed that Kalonzo personally travelled to Beijing in 2012 to seal the deal.

Kalonzo's party, however, claims that the Jubilee government began sabotaging the project in 2013, when the party alleged that the Uhuru-Ruto government wrote to the bank in China to cancel the project.

Wiper further claims that the project was relaunched by the Jubilee government in 2017 as a political move for the Jubilee government to get re-elected.

In the statement, Wiper accused President Ruto of hiring a digital militia and propaganda machinery against its party leader.

"He has unleashed his digital militia and propaganda machine in a futile attempt to destroy what he cannot buy: Kalonzo's integrity," the Wiper SG claimed.

Wiper accused Ruto of systematically capturing every institution in this Republic but the Judiciary, which Wiper says stands as the last bulwark against his total domination.

Wiper claims that Ruto does not respect the Constitution he swore to uphold, defend, and protect. The party claims that the President plots to dismantle the gains fought for by freedom fighters in the First and Second Liberations.

The party praised Kalonzo Musyoka's record, claiming that he left office in 2013 without corruption scandals, without unexplained wealth, and without moral stains.

The party has insisted that their party leader will not join President Ruto's government and will face the President in the 2027 General Elections.
