Voi residents witnessed a rare spectacle when a section of the government visiting the area arrived in style of a kind- in 13 choppers.
President Uhuru Kenyatta arrived in an air force helicopter a few minutes after Deputy President William Ruto, Cabinet secretaries and several senior government officials who had also flown to the site.
The choppers were parked in an area of Tsavo West National Park cleared for the purpose.
During his visit, the president visited the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) project and inspected the ongoing work.
He later had a closed door meeting with Taita Taveta Governor John Mruttu, Senator Dan Mwazo and Taveta MP Naomi Shaban.
The 13 choppers have continued to raise conversation especially on social media.
