A Jubilee Member of County Assembly (MCA) who went missing three days ago in unclear circumstances has been found dead at Ol Donyo Sabuk in Machakos County.
Churo Amaya Ward Rep Thomas Minito's body was found dumped near the 14 Falls in Matungulu with visible head and neck wounds, according to officers who visited the scene.
Machakos police boss Samuel Mukindia said they identified the body as Minito's since they found a voter's card bearing his name on the body.
The MCA had been missing since Tuesday after he was reportedly arrested while having lunch in Kabarnet town by three men posing as policemen.
The men allegedly told him he was being taken in to record a statement with the police.
Baringo County Police Commisioner Peter Okwanyo, however, said that he was not aware of police officers taking Minito to record a statement as witnesses claimed.
The MCA had also been arrested in March after he was accused of fuelling the wave of banditry violence witnessed in Laikipia County.
