The opposition coalition, National Super Alliance (NASA), on Friday received a severe beatdown on social media for its alleged claim to 10 million votes.

Politicians were instructed by Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery and National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) chairman Francis Ole Kaparo to stop declaring they would win the August 8 polls by certain numbers.

Kenyans on social media played on their "NASA 10 Million Strong" slogan to comically refute the claim.

Social media users also reacted to news that Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka was listed as a presidential candidate by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) with a hilarious meme.

President Uhuru Kenyatta

Social media users briefly discussed President Uhuru Kenyatta in connection to a recent opinion poll by the Radio Africa Group.

The poll suggested that NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga is likely to become more popular in the North Rift region, a perceived Jubilee party stronghold, in the next few months.

A few users seemed to agree with the poll findings.

Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Peter Kenneth held a press conference on Friday to officially quit from the Jubilee party.

He made a variety of scathing comments on Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko's managerial skills that elicited heated discussions on Twitter where many assured him of a loss in the August General election.
