Presidential Candidate for Restore and Build Kenya (RBK) Party Pete Ondeng Quits Race for State House

Presidential Candidate on the Restore and Build Kenya (RBK) party ticket, Pete Ondeng has quit the race for State House barely two months after he announced his intention to vie.

The founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lead Africa Foundation stated that he had decided to quit the race after observing that the bid was crowded and in his assessment unlikely to be free and fair.

"We cannot have 18 candidates," the candidate asserted, adding that more presidential aspirants should drop out and rally behind others.

Mr Ondeng' stated that he had stepped down in support of former Cabinet minister Joe Nyagah who is vying for the presidency as an independent candidate.

"Nyaga represents a thinking that is free of tribe... He stood his ground when the country was burning in 2007," Mr Ondeng' observed.

The Finance and Economic development expert on April 8 confidently announced on his Twitter account that he would contest for the presidential seat declaring that the impossible would be possible.

It's official. @rbkparty has submitted my name to @IEBCKenya as a presidential aspirant. Watch & pray The impossible is possible. Stand by.
