Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale has warned National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga against dismissing independent candidates.
The Senator observed that many of the political party primaries were a sham and may have denied deserving candidates the opportunity to contest in the General Election.
He added that politicians who had decided to go independent from the opposition coalition had lost faith in NASA and in Odinga as their leader.
Khalwale further warned the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader against interfering with the voting patterns in the various coalition strongholds.
"Raila’s call for a six-piece voting pattern is discriminatory and it is an infringement on the democratic right of voters," the Senator asserted.
He added that he would rally behind Funyula Member of Parliament Paul Otuoma in his bid for Busia Governor seat as an independent candidate.
