The hashtag #TZvsKE hit the trends on Wednesday after a user named Idris Sultan from Tanzania started a conversation where he urged Kenyans to move from Kenya to Tanzania due to Unga and skin problems.

Sultan's tweet offended Kenyans who went ahead to attack Tanzanians in a series of tweets where key faults of the Swahili-speaking nation were put out.

The coastal county was a subject of discussion after the government showcased some of the key projects it had conducted in the county.

Some of the key projects highlighted were Lamu level V hospital which has benefitted from a new renal system, the Youth Enterprise Fund, power stations and distribution of bursaries in the county.

#RedCard20

The hashtag #RedCard20 was a subject of discussion after civil society watchdogs flagged 20 politicians who they said should not be allowed to contest in the upcoming elections over integrity issues.

The Kenya Integrity Alliance named no presidential aspirant but gave red cards to 20 politicians including Anne Waiguru, Hassan Joho, Mike Sonko, Evans Kidero among others.

Garissa County

Garissa County hit the trends after 3 Administration Police (AP) died on Wednesday morning and two others seriously injured after a vehicle they were travelling in hit an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Liboi.

Most comments on the hashtag passed messages of sympthathy and condolences to the affected families.

#SonkoToaVideo

Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko was a subject of discussion on Wednesday after Kenyans on social media requested him to release a video evidence to prove his claims that Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero had sent a team from City hall to arrest Sonko Rescue team members who were collecting garbage in Eastleigh.

The Senator had alleged that his team was harassed even though they possesed all the necessary licences and documentation, adding that he had proof of the incident.

Kenyans reacted to the Senator's accusations by asking him to release a video evidence of the incident.

#UhuruManOfThePeople

The hashtag made it to the top trends after Kenyans started discussing the different things that President Uhuru Kenyatta had achieved in his first tenure.

Most users highlighted the development projects that had been initiated by the president in the different parts of the country and mentioned some activities that made the Uhuru stand out.

Some of the achievements highlighted on the trend were the launch medical equipment to different counties, the launch of the last mile project and laying the foundation for the Standard gauge railway.

Former Cabinet Minister Joseph Nyagah was a topic of discussion on Wednesday as he officially unveiled his 2017 presidential bid.

Mr Nyagah who is vying for the seat as an independent candidate noted that reducing the public debt and fighting unemployment were some of his key agendas.
