An aspirant in the August 8 General Election on Friday afternoon, unfortunately, passed on while he was on a campaign trail.
Kefa Nyangatare, an MCA aspirant for Itibo Ward in Nyamira County passed on after the vehicle he was driving was involved in a nasty accident.
Nyangatare who was to vie on a Democratic Party (DP) ticket is said to have been heading to conduct his campaigns when he veered off Ikonge-Magwanga road.
He is reported to have been avoiding to hit a motorcycle rider when he lost control and crashed.
Nyamira North OCPD Moses Asila confirmed the incident adding that the aspirant succumbed to injuries on the spot.
His body was later taken to Nyamira Referral Hospital.
This comes as campaigns continue to heat up as aspirants prepare to battle it out in the August polls.
Various leaders have been traversing the country as they seek to sell their candidature for various elective posts ranging from Ward representatives to the presidential seat.
