Budalangi Legislator Ababu Namwamba Attacks Raila Odinga

Labour Party of Kenya (LPK) Chairperson Ababu Namwamba  on Saturday attacked Opposition leader Raila Odinga stating that he (Raila) was a hypocrite.

The Budalangi legislator explained that the former premier only glorified leaders who support him and condemned those who differed with him.

Mr Namwamba further explained that the National Super Alliance (NASA) flagbearer was a man who did the opposite of what he said.

"I was on the front line supporting him and I marshalled all the support needed until he gave me the name 'general'. I was his lieutenant being glorified with all the holy names befitting an angel.

"However, when things changed due to lack of democracy, I made an about turn and now they are calling me names, condemning me," he stated.

The former Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General accused Mr Odinga of backstabbing his former soldiers after they left him giving an example of Raila's attack on Deputy President William Ruto and former Vice President Musalia Mudavadi who at one point decamped from ODM.

"Look at how Ruto brought all the votes from the Rift Valley region in 2007 and when they differed, Raila branded him as corrupt. The same with Mudavadi in 2013. But look at how (Mudavadi) is glorifying him now because he has joined his camp," he stated.

The legislator also took a swipe at the NASA outfit stating that the coalition was 'an exclusive club of five men with nothing substantial to offer Kenyans adding that NASA was only keen on how to share power amongst themselves.

"As a party, we choose to support Jubilee because of its development agenda. Though there were few challenges, they delivered and we are supporting them for another term," Ababu stated.

The LPK party leader was speaking in Uasin Gishu County where he had gone to drum up support for Labour Party Senate hopeful Philip Kiyeng.
