Why Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula Will Not Campaign for His Reelection

Ford Kenya Party Leader and National Super Alliance (NASA) Principal Moses Wetangula has declared that he will not campaign for his re-election bid.

Speaking after getting clearance from the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), he declared that he will delegate his reelection campaigns to Members of Parliament allied to his party.

Wetangula stated that he would delegate his campaigns so as to give him ample time to concentrate on national politics and mobilize votes for NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

“I don’t need to conduct any campaigns here to retain the seat. I will concentrate on campaigning for NASA throughout the country to ensure we send the corrupt Jubilee regime home,” he said.

The Bungoma senator will face it off with David Makali (Amani National Congress-ANC) Juma Mukhwana (Jubilee) and Bonny Nyongesa of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

Earlier on, Ford Kenya had attempted to negotiate a deal with ODM not to field candidates in the region but the efforts failed.

Wetangula's efforts are more needed on the national scene where NASA's Raila Odinga will be battling it out with Jubilee's Uhuru Kenyatta for the top seat in what Odinga has termed his ultimate battle.
