The National Super Alliance (NASA) deputy flag bearer Kalonzo Musyoka and Ford-Kenya party leader Moses Wetangula on Monday held a rally in Bungoma where they locked out Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leaders and members.
The leaders argued that ODM was frustrating the coalition parties in their strongholds and demanded that the party should let other coalition partners have seats, other than the presidency, in Opposition strongholds.
The two NASA principals demanded that ODM should pull down their aspirants in Bungoma County in favour of the Wetangula-led party.
Kalonzo explained that FORD-Kenya should have the Governor, Senator, Woman Representative, Members of Parliament and Member of County Assembly seats. This, he noted, was in line with a deal reached after ODM leader Raila Odinga was named NASA flag bearer.
According to the Wiper leader, the NASA brigade accepted to support Raila for the top seat on condition that he allowed other parties to take the other positions.
''With all due respect, this is not a matter to even deliberate on. It's all on record on our accord. It is common sense that Wetang'ula is a core principal of NASA, who shelved his presidential ambition for ODM hence ODM must shelve the other seats in his home turf of Western, especially here in Bungoma," Kalonzo stated.
Wetangula on his part stated that NASA would redeem the country from Jubilee's poor leadership and make life affordable for Kenyans.
Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale hit out at Wetangula's competitors David Makali (ANC) and Bonny Nyongesa (ODM) asking them to shelve their ambitions for his party leader.
The leaders were speaking at Posta grounds in Bungoma after Senator Wetangula was cleared to defend his seat by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
On Monday, IEBC cleared Wetangula to defend his seat and will now face off with Makali and Nyongesa of ANC and ODM respectively.
