Nairobi Woman Representative Rachel Shebesh Carried by Ambulance to Be Cleared by IEBC

Nairobi Woman Representative Rachel Shebesh was on Tuesday afternoon taken to be cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in an ambulance.

The ambulance ferrying her arrived at the Stadion Hotel, Nairobi, raising eyebrows as curious onlookers tried to get a glimpse of the legislator whose right leg was heavily bandaged.

Orange Democratic Movement's (ODM) aspirant Esther Passaris had on Monday visited Shebesh at the Nairobi Hospital where she is admitted.

Ms Passaris who clinched the ODM ticket during the nominations spent the afternoon with the incumbent who is recuperating from a leg injury at the hospital.

Through a Facebook post, Passaris wrote, "Earlier this afternoon, I paid a courtesy visit to Hon. Rachel Shebesh who is recuperating at the hospital. Despite being my opponent, I still wish her good health and believe my supporters do too."

Shebesh who clinched the Jubilee certificate during the nominations received her nomination certificate on her hospital bed a week ago.

Passaris and Shebesh will face off in the August 8 poll.
