President Uhuru Kenyatta Meets Carol Pulei who Designed the Shirt He Wore During Jubilee Party's National Delegates Convention

President Uhuru Kenyatta on Tuesday met the designer of the shirt he wore to the Jubilee Party's National Delegates Convention (NDC) a few weeks ago.

State House Director of Digital, Innovations & Diaspora Communications, Dennis Itumbi, stated that the designer, Carol Pulei, got a rare chance to meet with the President and Deputy President William Ruto.

Ms Pulei, a mother of two and a graduate of the Kenya Methodist University was contacted by Kenyatta’s handlers to design the shirt which was praised especially on social media for its uniqueness.

Itumbi stated that the designer, who is the Proprietor of Naneu Leshan Apparel shop along Ring Road in Kilimani, sought the chance to design the shirt and actually impressed.

It later emerged she had also designed the shirt Kenyatta and Ruto wore on Wednesday during the launch of the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR).

According to Pulei, it was her first time designing for the President although she had done that for top politicians in the country including Kikuyu Member of Parliament (MP) Kimani Ichung'wa, Dagoretti South MP Dennis Waweru and Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindiki.

The President wore the white shirt with a distinct flowery pattern when he was being unveiled as the Jubilee Presidential aspirant at the Bomas of Kenya.

This was a contrast from his usual silk shirts which President Kenyatta has severally worn especially during campaign tours.
