Boda Boda Safety Association of Kenya (BAK) Reveals Fake Officials Met President Uhuru Kenyatta

Hours after President Uhuru Kenyatta received a major endorsement for his re-election bid from Matatu Owners Association (MOA) and the Boda Boda Safety Association of Kenya (BAK), the latter has now distanced itself from the pact.

Speaking to Kenyans.co.ke, BAK National Chairman Kevin Mubadi stated that the President was duped by fake officials who met him purporting to represent the boda-boda association.

Mubadi stated that the organisation’s officials had declared that they would not attend the meeting with President Kenyatta as they had not been informed.

“The purported leaders who met the president on Sunday most of them were fake because as an organisation we have true officials who confirmed they will not attend the meeting because our association was not informed but organised by an individual who pretends to be the National Chairman,” disclosed Mubadi.

He highlighted that other officials representing various counties countrywide were also not in attendance when the individuals masquerading to represent the organisation endorsed President Kenyatta.

“Marsabit county chairman didn't attend, Busia, Kwale, Bungoma, Machakos, Vihiga just to name a few who are those that attended the meeting? The president needs to be keen and meet the right people,” posed Mubadi.

MOA Chairperson Simon Kimutai had on Sunday together with ‘Boda boda officials’ announced that matatus will provide free transport to aged Jubilee supporters and people living with disabilities, to enable them vote on August 8.

"We say with one voice as matatu and boda-boda operators that the Presidential candidate of our choice is Uhuru Kenyatta,” Mr Kimutati stated.

Mr Kimutai declared MOA's support to the Jubilee team and assured the Head of State that the team would stand with him in his journey.
