Political War Between Uhuru and Raila Goes Online Ahead of August Elections

The war between Opposition leader Raila Odinga and President Uhuru Kenyatta has taken a new dimension with the two rallying their troops to fight the war online.

A day after Raila was named the National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer, an unidentified person who NASA supporters believe is a Jubilee supporter set up a website known as "The Real Raila Odinga" and paid Google to advertise the website.

The website has been posting unsubstantiated claims and negative stories, painting Odinga as a corrupt, violent and crooked person who cannot be trusted with the leadership of the nation.

Sources also reveal that NASA has brought on board a team of competent bloggers to fight the online warfare and do as much damage as possible to President Kenyatta's re-election bid.

The bloggers with millions of followers monitor news and Jubilee messages from mainstream media and respond to them almost immediately in a way that discredits Jubilee.

The NASA online brigade has also been creating videos that rubbish any achievement by the Jubilee administration, painting it as a corrupt and failed regime that Kenyans need to send home soonest possible.

A video advertising the achievements of the Jubilee government has been corrupted with the doctored version bringing to light all the failures of the Jubilee administration.

It highlights the Sh5 Billion Afya House scandal, the maize shortage, cartels and the overpriced Standard Gauge Railway.

Different social media pages and groups have also been created to market the two leading presidential candidates.

Popular political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi is also reported to have set up various platforms on YouTube, Twitter and Facebook where he discredits Raila Odinga's presidential bid.
