Muslim Cleric and PNU Vice Chairman Sheikh Juma Ngao Reveals How Muslim Leaders Cheated Uhuru Kenyatta

A Muslim Cleric and political party leader has revealed that President Uhuru Kenyatta was duped at State House by a section of Muslim clerics who endorsed his candidature.

Kenya Muslim National Advisory Council chair Sheikh Juma Ngao,  disclosed that the delegation that "went to State House, Nairobi, two weeks ago and told President Uhuru Kenyatta all Muslims are behind him lied."

On May 23, Supreme Council of Kenya Muslim (SUPKEM) Secretary General Sheikh Aden Wachu led a delegation to State House where they endorsed President Kenyatta.

In an interview with a local newspaper, Ngao said that the delegation "were only after food. Muslims are not pocketed by other Muslim leaders. The truth is that only a few Muslims will vote for Jubilee.”

The cleric, who is also the Party of National Unity (PNU) vice chairman, fell out with the Jubilee administration about two years ago and decamped to the Opposition.

Ngao said that the Jubilee administration had given Muslims community a raw deal and only a few of them would support Kenyatta.

“The Jubilee government has treated Muslims as second-class citizens,” he said.

The delegation that was led by Sheikh Aden Wachu has received a backlash from Muslim leaders who were left divided over the support for the President.

Last week, SUPKEM Garissa branch secretary Abdullahi Salat dismissed the delegation that endorsed Kenyatta, stating that a few selfish leaders cannot make decisions on behalf of the Muslims.
