Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua Reveals Why Wiper Democratic Movement is Against Him

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua on Wednesday revealed that the Opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders are scared of him due to his development record and growing influence in the Ukambani region.

Governor Mutua explained that he had achieved a lot of development in four years whereas his rivals, who had been in politics for over 50 years, had done nothing.

"Wiper is scared of me, they are scared that am changing the politics of Ukambani where I am saying let the people come first and the leaders remain behind," Mutua stated during the Jeff Koinange Live show on Citizen TV.

On the issue of his fallout with former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, the Governor explained that Wiper had been against his bids to fight poverty in Ukambani.

"When I joined Wiper, I got a bit unstable because every time we went to meetings instead of discussing how to turn around poverty the agenda was always how to bring down leaders.

"Every time I raised my hand to ask about what we planning to do for the people I was always told am destroying the agenda," the Governor highlighted.

The Governor also took a swipe at the Kalonzo-led party stating that he had secured investors from abroad but the party moved to court to block the companies from investing in the area.

The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader strongly refuted claims that he was unpopular and would be defeated, stating that recent opinion polls had given him a 70% rating and that he would trounce his opponent in the August elections.
