Mama Ida Odinga Called to Intervene in Feud Between NASA Woman Representative Candidates for Nairobi

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party has entreated Mama Ida Odinga to intervene in the feud between two Nairobi Woman Representative candidates from the National Super Alliance (NASA).

Ms Esther Passaris of the ODM Party has been embroiled in a war of words with her Wiper Party counterpart Ms Rahab Ndambuki.

The bitter tussle between the two ensued during a candidates meeting organised by Mama Ida where the two publicly shot each other down over who was the better candidate and who should step down.

Ms Ndambuki was booed when she made an accusation against the ODM Party, claiming that it had short changed other NASA affiliates in the selection of candidates who will vie in the City.

"Is Nasa made up of ODM alone? We are equal partners as Wiper, ANC, Ford Kenya and Chama Cha Mashinani…its unfair for ODM to allocate themselves all the top slots in the city," she accused.

Ms Passaris then launched her attack at the candidate claiming she was a weak candidate and could not stand a chance against the incumbent.

Dagoretti North Member of Parliament Simba Arati initiated the unwelcome discussion when he warned that the two will be wasting time if they all go ahead to contest against the incumbent Jubilee Candidate Rachael Shebesh.

Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero has also been named as a mediator in the issue and was quick to downplay the feud by saying talks are underway.

"There is a negotiation going on between Passaris and Ndambuki as we speak," he conveyed during a Sunday service at the Regina Caeli Catholic Church in Karen.

His Deputy Jonathan Mueke has made a rejoinder stating that after the duo decides who will vie, the other has been guaranteed a nomination from the coalition.
