Details have emerged of a secret office that is allegedly only accessible to President Uhuru Kenyatta, billionaire businessman Chris Kirubi and other selected individuals that are close confidants to the president and his deputy.
The information was revealed by National Supper Alliance (NASA) leader Musalia Mudavadi on Wednesday.
According to Mudavadi, the secret office is situated in Nairobi's Parklands area and belongs to the Mt Kenya Foundation, an organization whose operations are secret, suspect and leaning towards the Jubilee party.
"The offices of this organisation are accessed only by President Kenyatta, Deputy President William Ruto, businessman Kirubi, Mrs Winnie Guchu, Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery, former Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir and former Chief of General Staff Joseph Karangi,” said Mr Mudavadi.
The Foundation is believed to be made of wealthy and influential people from the Mt Kenya region with the main aim of advancing the political and business interests of the region.
He also alleged that the director of Elections and Voter Registration at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Ms Immaculate Kassait, is a member of the organization.
Mudavadi also claimed that the IEBC Chief Executive Officer and Ms Kassait report regularly to State House in what the Opposition suspects is a scheme to rig the coming elections.
Chiloba and Kassait are alleged to have met directors of AL-Ghurair to discuss the ballot printing tender that was later awarded to the firm in what the Opposition has termed irregular and suspect.
NASA also claimed that the company has close links with the Kenyatta family and called on the IEBC to cancel the Sh2.5 Billion ballot paper tender.
