Police in Mombasa Arrest Wanted Criminal in Kisauni

Police in Mombasa have intensified their fight against crime after they arrested a criminal on their most wanted list on Thursday.

The suspect identified as Lena Kahindi was nabbed after an intensive manhunt led by Kisauni Police boss Christopher Rotich.

The police captured the suspect in his hide out in Kisauni in the morning after connecting him to a series of robberies in the port city.

According to the police, he was also linked to the killing of businessmen in the town as he was armed with five machetes during his arrest.

Rotich noted that they also recovered a pair of brand new police boots which they would investigate how they were obtained by Kahindi.

The police boss noted that they were also hunting down three other suspects who were still at large.

The three, who were identified as Arabika, Sham and Masjid, were described as being armed with firearms and highly dangerous.

Rotich observed that young men in the town were mostly involved in the criminal activities in the town as the three mentioned suspects were between the ages of 21 and 26.

“We have intelligence that the suspects are linked to the killings of two businessmen who were shot in their business premises in Kisauni last month,” Rotich stated.

He elaborated further that the high-risk businesses were the M-Pesa shops where the thugs displayed excessive force in robbing them.

Rotich asked residents to stay vigilant and report to the authorities of any criminal activities in their areas, especially in Kisauni and Likoni.
