Lugari Member of Parliament Ayub Savula's security aide has been killed.
The deceased was reportedly stabbed 10 times by a section of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party youth at a pub in Kolumani area in Lugari on Monday.
Confirming the incident, Savula stated that his aide had earlier in the day attended a meeting called by Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale at Kolumani Trading centre.
He later went to a pub at around 8 pm where he was accosted by the ODM youth.
"He was shouting in the crowd that this was an ANC zone and he was even called to the dais where he was given some money. He however still insisted that this was an ANC zone and eventually left the rally," the Lugari MP stated.
He added, “His hands were held in the back by one of the youths as another went ahead to stab him 10 times.”
NASA Principal and Amani National Congress (ANC) leader Musalia Mudavadi is expected to issue a statement on the issue later.
Mr Savula is a member of the Mudavadi-led party while the deceased was an ANC youth leader.
