Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo Reveals He Has Evidence of Hatespeech Against President Uhuru Kenyatta

Gem Member of Parliament Jakoyo Midiwo has sent out a warning to President Uhuru Kenyatta saying he has incriminating evidence against him.

This is after Kenyatta and some leaders from the Jubilee Party camp called for the arrest of Opposition leader Raila Odinga on grounds of making inciteful statements in Kajiado County.

Midiwo has accused them of double standards, saying they are misleading Kenyans yet he has a video of Uhuru uttering words that can be described as hate speech.

Speaking during an interview on NTV, on Tuesday morning, Midiwo said he was shocked to see Uhuru in the video bragging that he was elected president by the Kikuyu and Kalenjin Community.

''I have a video and I can play it here that shows Uhuru bragging that he was elected by the Kalenjin and Kikuyu after they fought. Is that not hate speech when a president uses an incident like violence to drum support for himself?'' Midiwo asked.

He also accused Majority Leader of the National Assembly Aden Duale of being a hypocrite as he was recently recorded inciting his constituents in Garissa to chase out the Kamba Community from the area ahead of August General Election.

The former Prime Minister has come under fire from Jubilee brigades after he was captured on camera addressing the public, where he is heard cautioning them against selling their land to unnamed people.

“We demand that Mr Odinga comes out and apologise to Kenyans for the sake of peace. I can confess here that in 2007, ODM party, which I was a member, used the same hatred techniques through, 41 tribes against one... and we saw what happened afterwards,” said Mr Duale.

Odinga has since dismissed as "absolute nonsense" calls that he be probed for allegedly issuing hate remarks in Kajiado, saying nothing he mentioned requires an investigation.
