Transport CS James Macharia, Senator Kembi Gitura Forced Out of Meeting at Blue Post Hotel in Thika

Chaos erupted at the Blue Post Hotel in Thika where Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia was kicked out of a meeting that was to be attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Trouble started when a number of Jubilee candidates attacked their independent counterparts for attending the event ahead of Kenyatta's tour of Murang'a County.

CS Macharia was forced by the Jubilee leaders to leave the meeting after he was accused of supporting the independent candidates.

According to the Jubilee nominees led by Kiharu Member of Parliament Irungu Kang'ata, the independents had lost in the nominations and did not deserve to accompany Kenyatta in his tours.

Current Murang'a Senator who is also Senate Deputy Speaker, Kembi Gitura, was not spared as he was also evicted from the venue.

“We demand that Kembi leave the hotel because he is not the party's candidate. I won the primaries,” ranted Kang'ata.

Security officers at the Hotel had a hard time controlling the situation after Gitugi Ward MCA nominee Jackson Mutungi reportedly tried to attack one the independent aspirants.

“You lost in the nominations and left the party. This is a Jubilee party affair and you are not needed,” he stated.
