Oburu Odinga Accuses Jubilee Party of Funding Independent Candidates in Nyanza to Reduce Raila Odinga's Popularity

Nominated Senator Oburu Odinga has accused the Jubilee Party of bankrolling independent candidates in Nyanza region ahead of the August Election.

Speaking in Siaya, Oburu claimed that the source of millions that some candidates were dishing in campaigns was questionable.

He accused Jubilee of financing the contenders claiming that some of the independent candidates had become millionaires overnight and were dishing money 'aimlessly' in campaigns.

The MP alleged that Jubilee had grown desperate and had resorted to that tactic in a bid to thwart National Super Alliance (NASA) flag-bearer Raila Odinga’s presidential hopes.

“Desperate moves to finance Independent candidates in Nyanza so as to eat into Raila Odinga’s votes won’t bear fruits,” vowed Odinga.

Oburu warned that he had all the information on those who were in cahoots with Jubilee and would expose them if they fail to refrain from the behaviour.

He further urged the Nyanza electorate not to be swayed by money dished out by politicians in the upcoming polls.

Seven candidates are running in Siaya County as independent candidates.
