National Super Alliance (NASA) flag bearer Raila Odinga has turned his guns on Defence Cabinet Secretary Raychelle Omamo over claims that the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) were plotting to rig the August General Election.
Speaking in Vihiga, Odinga warning Omamo not to be "cheated" into using the military to rig the elections in favour of Jubilee.
He alleged that there were plans to use the military maintain the internal security od the country which he maintained should not be done without the approval of Parliament.
Odinga further claimed that civilians were being allowed into the Embakasi military base adding that they were being trained on how to rig the election.
The NASA principal noted that such acts and other plans by County Commissioners to use the armed forces inside the country's borders amounted to interference.
Odinga insisted that the KDF should stick to the pledge made by the Chief of Staff Samson Mwathethe that the military would not and shall not be part of the electioneering process.
The ODM leader had on Tuesday also alleged that the National Intelligence Service (NIS) was party to a plot by Jubilee Party to rig the August 8 polls.
“At the barracks, there is an ongoing training of Kenya Defence Forces on crowd control. Military officers, Administration Police officers, county commanders and regional coordinators are also being trained "for unspecified roles", said Odinga.
