Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya's Office Robbed of Items Worth Sh2 Million

Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya was a victim of a robbery incident after his office was ransacked of items worth Sh2 million.

Matuga OCPD Michael Mwaura observed that no doors had been broken during the Friday incident, suggesting that it must have been an inside job.

"The suspect easily gained entry into the office without breaking the door," he stated.

What was more puzzling was that no alarms were raised, yet two guards were on duty during the time of the robbery.

The OCPD reported that the exact number of burglars involved in the 2 am robbery was still unknown, adding that they made away with two laptops, two video cameras and a television screen.

Public service chief officer Nurain Mwatsahu reiterated Mwaura's sentiments describing the robbery as a well-orchestrated scheme by people within the building.

"We think this incident has something to do with Governor’s political rivals who might want to know what’s going on in his offices,” he explained.

The stolen items were later recovered when a matatu driver filed a report about a suspicious person who had boarded their vehicle with the electronic gadgets at 4 am.

The driver narrated how upon arrival at the police station, the thug drew out a dagger and threatened to attack him but decided to flee leaving the items behind.

The Kwale Governor, who decamped from Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to join Jubilee, will be defending his seat against Wiper's Chirau Ali Mwakwere and ODM's Issah Chipera during the August 8 polls.
