Jubilee MP Mary Emasse in Trouble After Leaked Phone Conversation on Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong

Teso South Member of Parliament Mary Emaase is now tasked with explaining herself after a phone conversation leaked, exposing her hurling insults at Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong

The remarks were particularly offensive to her constituents because the Governor is a native of her constituency.

Her main challenger from the Amani National Congress (ANC), Denzel Musumba, leveraged on the audio recording during a funeral service that they had both attended over the weekend.

"There's an audio clip that has surfaced of Emaase abusing the Governor and saying that he is going nowhere. Let her apologise to the locals," Musumba demanded.

In a rejoinder, a fellow politician, Shobby Ekasiba, bashed Emaase for the remarks which forced her to issue an apology and declare her support for Governor Ojaamong.

Early this year, Emaase hit headlines after it was reported that she had been arrested by Ugandan law enforcement officers while recruiting Ugandan citizens to masquerade as Kenyan voters.

She, however, denied the claims, terming them as mere propaganda.

She will be defending her seat in the upcoming General Election on a Jubilee Party ticket.
